Today MailOnline, announced London’s first ever fashion show featuring ONLY full-figured women will debut during Fashion Week. For all women sizes 6 and fiercely beyond, THIS IS A HUGE DEAL FOR US! Because women sizes 6-14 are considered PLUS SIZE models. This event takes  plus-models/clothing and places it on a highly sophisticated and respected platform that allows plus-size designers, women, business people alike to bring attention to their market and earn credibility in the fashion realm.

Let me remind everyone that the average high fashion model usually has a height ranging anywhere from 5’8-5’11, bust size of 32″-36″, a waist between 22″-26″, and hips measurements of “33-35″. To put these quantitative measurements into words, ” This is a very, very, very, very skinny woman.” Many of you reading this might find yourself only fulfilling one of these standards; however, that’s perfectly fine! These “numbers” just represent the typical anatomical appearance of a high fashion model, but they are not set in stone or permanent. Once in a while someone will emerge and break the mold due to either their unconventional height, voluminousness bosoms, or sensational “unique” physical attribute. Cough, Kate Moss and Selita Ebanks are only 5″7. Cough, cough Kate Upon appeared on the covering of Vogue Italia’s November 2012 issue. Hello, Cindy Crawford’s  mole has its own identity. Karolina Kurkova has no belly button. Fashion is ever changing. One day your in, the next day your tossed out on the street corner.

Laura Catterall (left) and Tara Lynn (right) are plus size models who have in the past year appeared on the cover of prominent fashion magazines.
