The Bare Necessities

nothing to wear edited
Have you ever looked in your “full” closet and thought, ” I have no clothes!” Well, what your really trying to insinuate is that, in fact, you do have clothes. However, you have already repeatedly resorted to wearing the same outfits time and time again.
Over the years, I have learned that when it comes to clothes quality is better than quantity. Each closet needs essential must have items that can be worn continuously, while each time creating a different appeal. These items will not only allow you to access to a timeless wardrobe, but it can also save numerous trips to your local retail outlet.  I know we would all give up our first-born child to have a closet like Carrie Bradshaw… Okay maybe just me.Haha. However, in our current economic times, every penny counts.
To get everyone off to the right start, I found a great closet checklist on blogger Laura C. George site, Let the Real World Begin that is helpful to any struggling “Champagne taste with beer money” consumer. Also Project Runway host, Nina Garcia has a great book out titled The Style Strategy: A Less-Is-More Approach to Staying Chic and Shopping Smart  that help hon in and strengthen your shopping strategies. The book aims to “help women attain high-end looks at lower prices but will also learn how to maximize what they already have through maintenance, ingenuity, and creative style choices.” Both of these options provide less expensive alternatives and ideas to reinventing your wardrobe.
So what are you waiting for? Get Started! You probably already own some of these items. Checkmarks never looked so sweet.
